January Citizen of the Month

We are proud to announce Evelyn Kempf as Arlington High School’s January Citizen of the Month! Evelyn was nominated for a number of reasons. Her nominators explained how she’s not only a hard-working and diligent student, but an enthusiastic leader, taking initiative in groups like the Science Olympiad Club with a certain “confidence and candor” that inspires her peers. Evelyn was described as showing appreciation for and going out of her way to value the work of her peers, as “she never makes anyone feel as though their contributions to anything, whether it be Socratic seminars, group work, projects, or simply conversation, are insignificant”. As one nominator put it well, “Although Evelyn’s accomplishments tower high, it is her humility that makes her deserving of [this] recognition”. Evelyn leads with enthusiasm, determination, and inclusivity in mind, and is very deserving of this nomination. Thank you Evelyn for your constant efforts to make AHS a more positive and welcoming place for all!

As January has ended, we will now begin accepting nominations for our February Citizen of the Month! Please take the few minutes to nominate someone who:

  • Exhibits genuine care for the school as a community

  • Takes pride in and show enthusiasm for what they do

  • Demonstrates kindness toward their peers

  • Spreads positivity and extinguishes negativity
