Grade 9 Orientation Event – LIVE!

As we start this year together remotely, AHS is exploring new ways to interact and engage with our students in person when possible.  As part of that effort, our 9th grade transition team has planned an In-Person Orientation event for 9th graders on Pierce Field, on Wednesday, September 30th, and Wednesday, October 7th. Students and families should look out for permission forms and information in your email.

New Reopening of School Information

This note went out to students and staff on Friday. Technical difficulties have delayed forwarding this to parents. More information will follow soon.

Dear Arlington High School Community,

This is a quick note to let you know about changes to the Arlington High School reopening plan for the Fall of 2020. I am including links to a memo and a motion that were submitted and approved by the School Committee last night.
The main decision is that the high school will begin majority remote for Semester 1, starting on September 21. Identified high needs students will still be invited into the school. We will be sending our back-to-school mailing and schedules at the beginning of the week, School Counselors will be available for schedule corrections, and we will hold a community forum on Thursday, September 17, 6:30-8:00 pm.
I know that these changes and delays have been stressful for many and we regret the challenges that the pandemic has placed on our return to school planning. We are excited about the beginning of the year and eager to get back to teaching and working your students. We are working quickly to get out information and plans.
Have a great weekend,
Matthew

2020 Yearbooks are HERE! Better late than never!

Hello, Class of 2020,
The yearbooks are in, and we will be doing yearbook pick up next week. Again, we appreciate your patience this summer. COVID truly slowed down production.
Yearbook pickup will be at the high school at the courtyard gates. You will enter and exit at the Mill St. Entrance. The cars can pull up the sidewalk (or park) and AHS staff will walk up to your car, ask for your name and we will hand you a yearbook. Then, pull around the rotary and pull away.
Please check the schedule about when to come:
Monday 9/14: A-F 3:00-3:30, G-L 3:30-4:00, M-R 4:00-4:30, S-Z 4:30-5:00

Tuesday 9/15: S-Z 3:00-3:30, M-R 3:30-4:00, G-L 4:00-4:30, A-F 4:30-5:00
Wednesday 9/16: 3:00-5:00 for anyone who hasn’t picked theirs up
PLEASE try and come to your assigned time on Monday or Tuesday.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Ms. Donohue and Mrs. Clark
